Wool & Yarns

For tufting you need yarn. Loads of yarn. Whether its wool, cotton or other yarns. We work constantly on expanding our range of products so we can offer you a big selection of qualities. Our Cotton is also suitable for macrame projects. In general all our yarns can also be used for weaving and other textile crafts.

Which yarn should I use?

In principle, any yarn can be used that fits through the needle hole of the tufting machine and can be cut by the machine. When choosing, the requirements of the project should be considered: a house entrance rug requires robust yarn, while a cushion cover requires soft and fluffy yarn. Sustainability and origin also play a role. Sheep's wool is not suitable for animal-free projects, while cotton and sheep's wool are more sustainable than acrylic yarn.

Carpet wool - the fluffy classic for carpets

Wool yarns are ideal for tufting projects because they are soft, durable and easy to work with. The New Zealand tufting wool is specially made for tufting with a tufting machine.
Advantages of wool yarns:
Natural fibre: wool is a natural, biodegradable fibre that is environmentally friendly.

Excellent insulation: wool yarns provide excellent thermal insulation, making them ideal for carpets and home textiles. Sheep's wool is naturally heat-resistant, so you can even use carpet wool to tuft individual pot coasters.

Versatility: wool can be easily dyed, allowing for a wide range of colour options.

Acrylic yarn – robust and durable

Acrylic yarn is a synthetic alternative to natural fibres, characterised by its durability and ease of care. Our acrylic yarns are available in many vibrant colours and are perfect for colourful and long-lasting tufted projects.
Advantages of acrylic yarns:

Durability: acrylic yarn is extremely resilient and retains its shape and colour over time.

Easy to care for: Acrylic yarn is machine washable and easy to care for, making it ideal for everyday items.

Cost-effective: Acrylic yarn is often less expensive than natural fibres while still offering excellent quality.

Recycled cotton – sustainable and environmentally friendly

Recycled cotton yarns are the perfect choice for environmentally conscious hobbyists. These yarns are made from repurposed cotton textiles and offer the same benefits as conventional cotton, but with a smaller environmental footprint.
Benefits of recycled cotton:

Environmentally friendly: By reusing cotton textiles, resource consumption is reduced and waste is minimised.

Soft and breathable: Recycled cotton retains the soft and breathable properties of conventional cotton.

Versatile: These yarns are ideal for a wide range of projects, from carpets to decorative items.
