Tufting Cloths

Here you will find our tufting fabrics and finishing fabrics. For tufting, you stretch a base fabric onto a frame. This fabric is called tufting cloth. For you as a tufter, it is like a canvas for a painter. With the tufting machine, you poke through the stretched tufting cloth and draw, paint, your carpets with the yarn.

The right base fabric

The tufting cloth is the fabric that is stretched on the tufting frame. This is how the yarn is ‘shot’ for the carpet. So it's like a painter's canvas. Attention: the tufting machine does not gently insert the yarn into the fabric, but rather chops it into it. The tufting cloth must therefore be able to withstand a great deal of stress.

Use only genuine tufted cloth

It is also important that the tufted cloth is really tightly stretched on the tufting frame, which of course puts more strain on the individual threads. So it is really important to use the right tufted cloth and not any other fabric, as it simply won't be able to withstand the stresses.
