Punch needling is a simple and meditative technique in which you ‘punch’ yarn through fabric using a special needle. The result: a raised, fluffy texture that not only looks pretty, but also feels special. No complicated counting like with embroidery, no sewing machine, just you and your project. Many punch needle sets come with instructions, but what if you're a beginner and have never worked with a punch needle before? Then every instruction will be a challenge for you. You don't need to buy anything extra, google anything or prepare anything. Your set includes:

• A large organic cotton bag (29x42x8 cm) – the canvas for your artwork
• A fine punch needle – ideal for the yarn included
• Two 25g balls of yarn – in fresh summer colours (please note: neon shades are made of polyacrylic, the rest is cotton)
• A practical thread clipper for clean transitions
• An embroidery hoop (16 cm) to keep the fabric taut
• A matching screwdriver – for your punch needle
• Glue and brush to fix your work
• And of course: A template with a flower motif, including video instructions and a practice piece

1. Transfer the motif and stretch the fabric: Place the template under the fabric or trace it, then stretch the fabric in the embroidery hoop.
2. Practise your first stitches: You can try out your first loops without pressure using the test piece provided.
3. Punch out the motif: The fine punch needle fits comfortably in your hand – the video instructions guide you step by step.
4. Fix and admire: Thanks to the glue and brush, everything stays in place – and you can proudly show off your new bag.

Allow about two to four hours, depending on your speed and how often you take breaks. But in any case, you'll finish your DIY project in no time and can use your flower bag straight away. The duration of the project is therefore ideal for a cosy afternoon on the balcony or a craft evening with friends.

We recommend it for ages 12 and up. Younger crafters can also complete the project with a little help.
