Vlieseline Stretchfix is an elastic, heat-activated fusible web on release paper, designed for quick and durable no-sew hems on stretch fabrics. It is especially suitable for jersey, knit, sweat, and other elastic materials, helping you create smooth hems while preserving the fabric’s stretch and flexibility.
Unlike standard hemming tape, Stretchfix remains elastic after fusing. It is therefore ideal for garments that need to stretch during wear, such as T-shirts, leggings, dresses, skirts, and children’s clothing. It can also be used to bond elastic fabric layers or to apply fabric appliqués securely without the risk of the bond becoming rigid or lifting.vlieseline+2
How to use
-
Neaten the raw edge of the fabric if necessary.
-
Place Stretchfix along the hem edge with the paper side facing up.
-
Using an iron set to two to three dots, fuse it dry in sections for approximately 10–12 seconds. Press the iron down rather than sliding it.
-
While the release paper is still attached, fold and press the hem to the width of the tape. This creates an even hem without measuring.
-
Allow the paper to cool completely, then remove it.
-
Fold the hem upwards, cover it with a damp cloth, and press it in sections for another 10–12 seconds at the same iron setting. Do not slide the iron.
-
For an especially durable, professional finish, topstitch with an elastic stitch or twin needle after fusing.vlieseline+1
